Copper hardness, engraving depth, hard chrome, and substrate proof — the metrics Ornate holds on the line, not only at final inspection.
Copper hardness is held in the 190–210 HV range so engraved cells sit on a stable face. Engraving depth is matched to press duty — up to 120 µm where the job requires it.
Hard chrome at 950–1050 HV protects against doctor blades, inks, and chemistry. Proofing on the actual substrate confirms colour, H/T, and ink behaviour before packing.
That gate exists so the cylinder that leaves Ahmedabad is the cylinder the press expects — with job data documented through to dispatch.
